GasCan Instructional Video
To fill your gas can, first choose if you're intending to use it for gassing up your gbb's, or tornado grenades. This determines the correct lubricant and lubricant to gas ratio to keep your airsoft products in tip top shape.
GBB
If you plan on using your gas can for refilling your gbb, start by making sure the reservoir is depressurized. Check by pressing down with the tip on a hard surface such as a table. Allow remaining gas to vent if present.
- Unscrew the top
- Add two drops of ai gbb oil
- Screw on the top, leaving a small 0.5mm gap to prevent seizing while remaining airtight
- Fill the gas can with your gas of choice using the ai propane or duster adaptor. This will take about 20 seconds. Make sure everything is lined up vertically. Remember, the 2 drops of lubricant are meant to provide correct lubrication for a full load of gas. If the gas is overlubricated, it can saturate your gbb with oil which could affect the effectiveness of your hop mechanism and allow dust and grime to collect in your gun. Using unlubricated gas could dry your seals over time and cause leaks in your magazines or between components in the blowback unit.
- You are now ready to gas up your gbb
- If you need a longer fill tip you can use an ai duster adaptor as an extension.
- The ai gas can holds enough gas to fill about 12 standard 1911 magazines.
Tornado Grenades
If you're storing gas for your tornado grenade, start by making sure the reservoir is depressurized. Check by pressing down with the tip on a hard surface such as a table. Allow remaining gas to vent if present.
- unscrew the top
- add eight drops of ai tornado oil
- replace the cap allowing for a 0.5mm gap
- choose your propellant using the guide in your tornado grenade manual. As a rule of thumb, use duster gas in temperatures above 33 degrees celcius (91º fahrenheit) to maintain a 3 second delay with the long setting on your timer grenade.
- the impact grenade works with both propane and duster gas.
- Fill the gas can with your gas of choice using the ai propane or duster adaptor. This will take about 20 seconds. Make sure everything is lined up vertically.
- Lubricating your gas eliminates the need to relubricate your grenade every few uses as shown in the tornado grenade manual. Doing this diligently is a convenient way to ensure that your grenade is happy for years to come.
- Fill your grenade. You will get approximately 10 grenade fills per full gas can.
Usage
Feel free to alternate oil types. Propane is remarkably good at aerosolizing oil so the gas can is essentially self cleaning if used correctly. If you plan on reserving your gas can specifically for one type of gas, you can check off the gas type on the label to avoid contaminating your airsoft products with the wrong lubricant.
The airsoft innovations compact refilling device packs a serious amount of propellant into a small package. So small that you can fit two gascans snuggly into a double m4 shingle.
Tip: Keep a large bb loader in the other pouch of a double m4 shingle to make a handy reloading station for yourself and for your team.
Do not open your gas can while it contains pressurized gas. The gas can features a safety channel that releases gas gradually if you open it while it's full or if it over-pressurizes. An easy way to make sure the can is empty is to simply turn it over and vent remaining gas by pressing the nozzle down against a hard surface like a table. The ai gas can is designed for propane and duster gas only. As such it has an overpressure release to protect the user in case extreme temperatures are reached. Propane has a room temperature pressure of 130psi but can reach potentially dangerous pressures if, for instance, it is left in a car trunk on a hot day.
