Size doesn't matter! Ok, I'll admit it looks silly. Sort of like a defective sequin.
But what can it do?
The Airsoft Innovations Flow restrictor (FR) is a custom part which reduces the flow of gas into the recoil internals of semi automatic Western Arms 0.45/1911 series GBBs. Because of the way WA GBB internals work, only recoil speed is affected. Muzzle velocity is not reduced by the use of a FR.
The FR is not recommended for use in fully automatic WA GBBs such as variants in the Prokiller series because of mag cooldown issues related to the very high rate of fire these GBBs achieve.
WA GBBs are specifically designed to be propelled by HFC134a which exerts less pressure than propane (70psi vs. 125psi at 70F). Using higher pressure propane results in higher recoil impact which can break a stock plastic slide because it is not designed with propane recoil speed in mind.
Previously, upgrading a WA GBB to handle propane (the gas formerly known as green) could only be done by replacing the plastic slide with an aftermarket metal slide. Metal slides certainly add to the appeal of GBBs, but they are very expensive. Aftermarket WA slides start at $100 not including the costs of shipping and brokerage.
With an AI FR, WA users enjoy these benifits:
• Access to cheap propellant (domestic propane)
• Big increase in muzzle velocity: from 240fps (stock) to 320fps (FR) with 0.2g bbs
• A cheap alternative to buying a metal slide: use propane without damaging your plastic slide

Installation is straighforward with the included installation videos. These videos are of reduced resolution to conserve bandwidth. Over 400Mb of video footage is included with the AI FR in CD format to help you through the installation. Also included is reference footage to help you completely disassemble a WA GBB in case you need to repair or upgrade other parts whenever you need.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The FR is not for use with an upgrade recoil spring or an aftermarket metal piston. Details in the FAQ.
Please read the FAQ and poke through my lab test data. A lot of work was put into the design and testing of this product and it makes me feel fuzzy when I count up the hits to those pages.
